Historic Bowens Mills Calendar
The Last Weekend in September Historic Bowens Mills Steam & Gasoline Engine Show: Co-sponsored by the Barry County Steam, Gas and Antique Machinery Association. There will be a display of antique tractors, engines, and farm machinery. There will be special events including old fashioned antique tractor pull, threshing demonstrations, a tractor parade and There will be Clogging both days and an Appalachian Big Ring Square Dance Sunday, The fun starts at 12:00 noon and lasts until 5:00 P.M. The "It’s Cider Time Festival" gate fee for adults is $5.00, Children 12 years and under $3.00.
The First Full Weekend in October Historic Bowens Mills Mountain Men Encampment & Colonial Fiber Weekend: Co-sponsored by the Fork River Free Trappers with a authentic Mountain Men & Trapper living history encampment. Colonial costumed craftsmen demonstrating and selling their works, Old fashion barnyard pull Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm, Horse drawn wagon rides, sheep shearing and spinning demonstrations both days. The fun starts at 12:00 noon and lasts until 5:00 P.M. The "It’s Cider Time Festival" gate fee for adults is $5.00, Children 12 years and under $3.00.
The Second Full Weekend in October Historic Bowens Mills Civil War Days, Featuring a large Living History Encampment. There will be a battle at 3:00 pm with a full schedule of special events, including artillery demonstrations both days. Special Displays will include a variety of Civil War Exhibits. Live Music both days. The fun starts at 12:00 noon and lasts until 5:00 P.M. On The "It’s Cider Time Festival" gate fee for adults is $5.00, Children 12 years and under $3.00.

A Fall Feature Event, with 4 Great Festival Weekends of Living History, Cider Pressing Demonstrations, on gigantic 100 year old, antique water powered, cider press; and stone ground corn grinding demonstrations on huge original water turbine powered grind stones along with many other history related activities. during our fall fund-raising season. Festivals begin at the end of September featuring Living History Encampments, Old-Time Music, Farm Animal Petting Area, and Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides along with many other history related activities. Cider, Donuts, Hot Apple Dumplings, and Good Food are available near the large shaded picnic area. The fun starts at 12:00 noon and lasts until 5:00 P.M.
