Registration after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday is inside of the Gathering Place building.
All military personal must report to their company commander in order to participate in military activities. Participation in Drill is highly suggested before engaging in the days Battle.
Amenities:
Firewood - Stacks of firewood will be located near all of the camps. Please do not bring in your own firewood or take any home with you. By transporting firewood from one area to another you may be unintentionally helping to spread harmful insects from one area to another. Please take only as much as you need so there will be plenty for everyone. Chopping firewood can be dangerous and should be only be done by adults and supervised teenagers away from people.
Water - There are three sources of fresh water drinking. The water spigots are located in the following places; at the barnyard entrance, outside of Granny's Kitchen, and on the south end of the Gathering Place.
Straw - There will be straw available for you to use for the weekend. It is located at the barn beside the Gathering Place. When you are finished using it please gather it into a pile so that it can be easily collected after the event.
Restrooms - There are two indoor facilities located inside of the Gathering Place that are handicapped accessible. They will be available for use when the building is open. There are two additional indoor facilities available which are located next to Granny's Kitchen, and Porta-Jons will be on site next to the Barn.
Trash Disposal - There are trash receptacles conveniently located at various locations around the grounds. Please bag up your trash before you leave the event and bring it to one of the receptacles. Trash bags are available at registration.
Restrictions During Public Hours:
On Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. noon until 5:00 p.m. the park is open to the public. The Mill generates the main portion of it's operating revenue by hosting several events during it's Cider Time Festival each year. The Civil War Days event is one of the events during the festival. The public is attending the event to visit the historic buildings and to learn from and be to entertained by us; the living history enthusiasts. Please interact with the public and be open to sharing your knowledge and experience with them.
During the public hours of the event the following rules must be observed:
1. No vehicles are allowed in the camps,
2. All modern items are to be kept out of sight,
3. Participants must be dressed in period appropriate clothing,
4. Safety First! Safety must be your top priority!
5. Please be considerate of everything on site such as the buildings, the landscape, and the animals as well as everything that everyone has been brought to the site such as tents, equipment, vehicles, and their personal property.
6. Please be considerate of your fellow re-enactors and of the public.
Military Rules:
1. There will be no unauthorized discharging of weapons in the camps. Any person discharging a firearm; while not in combat, should do so at a safe distance from the camps, the buildings, from all people, and from all animals. Any person discharging a firearm, while not in combat, should do so only after loudly announcing, "Fire in the hole".
2. There will be no unauthorized skirmishes or dangerous horseplay. Actions of this kind will not be tolerated. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the person or persons involved in the incident being expelled from the grounds.
3. All standard black powder weapon safety rules are to be vigorously observed by all re-enactors.
4. Everyone is required to comply with Artillery safety zones at all times while combat is under way. No smoking is allowed within 25 ft. of a limber chest.
5. There will be an "Officer-of-the-Event" who will be in overall charge and supervision of the weekend's activities. 1st. Lt. Tony Osterberg of the 2nd. KY is the "OE" of the event this year. Please seek him out with any concerns that you may have.
General Event Rules:
1. There is a noise curfew in effect for this weekend between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Please reduce the level of your voice and restrict noisy activities during these times.
2. Due to the limited number of restroom facilities available on site we ask that the restrooms not to be utilized as dressing rooms or clothing storage areas. All young children should be accompanied to the restrooms by an adult. The restrooms in the Gathering Place are primarily for the public's use but they will be available for re-enactor use when the building is open. There are restroom facilities located next to Granny's Kitchen and there are Porta-Jons located next to the Barn. Please keep all of the restrooms clean and tidy.
3. Please be aware that there is open water on the property. There is a mill pond and a creek. Children should be supervised at all times especially near the water.
4. Please be aware that there is livestock on the property. The Mill has horses to pull the wagon for the wagon ride as well as other farm animals.
5. Please take care of where and how you dig a fire pit. Please keep fires a safe distance away from everything, keep common walkways open, and never leave a burning fire unattended. Please share a fire pit with a neighbor if it is at all possible. Please avoid using your fire pit as a landfill. There are trash bags and trash containers readily available to dispose of unwanted food and refuse. When the event is over please carefully fill in your fire pit.

This is your invitation to attend a great West Michigan Living history event! Here are a few things that you will need to know about this event.
Pre- Registration:
The pre-registration deadline for this event is September 15. Registration forms and instructions are available at -
You may register as an individual or as a unit. If, your group would like to register as a unit then, please have one person from your group fill out the back of the registration form with the names of your group's members who are most likely to attend. There are no fees charged for this event. Walk-on participants will be allowed entrance to the park, free of change on both days, provided that at the time of registration they are already dressed in historically accurate clothing and sign a waiver form. Independent military re-enactors are welcome to participate provided that they are willing to fall in with a unit which is present at the event. Military rank of soldiers will be determined by the commanding officers at the event.
Please be aware that on Saturday After 12:00 p.m. And All Day on Sunday; all Walk-On participants must enter the event through The Gathering Place Building and sign a waiver form at the ticket table.
No one will be allowed to participate unless a waiver form has been signed.
Please be aware that during the public hours of the event all Walk-on participants should be dressed in a military uniform or in historically accurate civilian clothing before entering the Gathering Place to register or he/ she will be asked to pay the site's admission fee
